Great weather for queen mating

Last week was perfect for queen mating and I had a lot of queens start to lay.
These should be ready to post from Monday 14th July.

I can only post within the UK, ie N Ireland and GB mainland.

About Jonathan Getty

Jonathan Getty is a member of the Belfast & District branch of the Ulster Beekeepers Association and is at least a fourth generation beekeeper in the Getty family. His main beekeeping interest is queen rearing based on our native bee Apis mellifera mellifera. He started up the Belfast Minnowburn queenrearing group several years ago and it now has about 50 active members. He also manages about 30-40 colonies of his own. Jonathan holds a BSc Hons in Psychology from Queens University Belfast and gained a postgraduate teaching qualification at Stranmillis Training College. He is a fluent Spanish speaker.

    I placed an order last week for three queens;
    Not sure what stge you are at but maybe you could let me know.
    I am more than happy to collect in person if this should be convenient?

      Hi Nigel. I should have them ready towards the end of the month. I have a load of orders in which I have to post out first. The good news is that queens are mating in this fine weather.

    I have ordered a queen from you – I intend introducing her to a nuc – if she arrives late in the season I would like to overwinter her in the nuc – do you have any positive/negative comments regarding this?
